power door locks not working right
Ok here's my problem. i have an 04 accord ex coupe recently my key fobs, both mine and my wifes', weren't working right. I thought the batteries were dying so I changed them both. The doors wouldn't open or lock. Now htat I changed them they still don't open or lock I have to use the key in the door itself to lock it. But I can still arm the factory alarm. I'm starting to think that the problem is with the doors themselves. Anyone experiencing the same problem.

Re: power door locks not working right (CubanLynx84)
this works on the 6th gen and I would not see any reason for it not to work on the newer cars........
set intermittent wiper ring to the middle position
turn car on but do not start
wait 10 seconds and turn car off
test fobs

You need to re-program the fobs.
I did a write-up for it on another post but can't remember which.
You can use 1 or 2 keys, better if you use 2
This must be done fairly quick. Should take less then a minute
1. Insert key into ignition
2. Turn key to ON position
3. Turn to OFF/LOCK position
4. Press LOCK or UNLOCK on fob within 4 sec.
5. Repeat steps 2-4
6. Repeat steps 2-4
7. Repeat step 2
8. Press and hold LOCK & UNLOCK within 4 sec.
9. Should hear a faint click noise from the door lock.
10. Turn to OFF/LOCK position.
Test by pressing the LOCK button on the fob with the door close. It should be able to lock & unlock now.
If not, try the steps again.
If it still don't work, could be the receiver.

Re: power door locks not working right (CubanLynx84)
I don't know if you are still having your problem or not, not sure what you ment by remotes were not working right, but anytime you replace a battery in a remote on a honda, that remote and all others that you want to work, must be reprogrammed.
1. insert key in ign.
2. turn ign. sw. to on.
3. with one remote in other hand, press lock or unlock on remote.
4. turn ign. sw. off, then back on.
5. press lock or unlock on same remote.
(Baisically repeat steps 2-3, FOUR times, on forth pressing of remote, locks should cycle once, immedeately press lock or unlock on other remote, locks should cycle.)
At this point remotes should be programmed. This procedure works on at least 90% of Honda factory installed or dealer istalled keyless entry and security systems. Hope this helps.
