Default Pop from Underhood in first gear automatic

Long story short I used to own a Honda civic dx. That said I really never had to worry about high rpms and the effect on the engine.

Now I own a 2007 Honda Accord SE. 224 hp and a 3.0L Vtec-sohc manufacture built. I baught it pre-owned and it is a decent car with little mechanical issues.

A few days ago I was out on a delivery and did a u turn. Once I was on the other side in gear one I fully floored it. I didn't watch the rpms but I am sure it went to the red 8 marker. It wasn't there for long as it shifted to second gear quickly unfortunately I heard a sound from the front of my car the latest sounded like someone took a plastic bag, blew it up and popped it.

The cat has since then been running fine (it's usual) but I'm just worried there might be something wrong with it.

Please any suggestions to what happened or what might be wrong with it would be great!!!

You might have just experienced a possible but rare engine backfire? If your not hearing a constant engine related noise since then I doubt you have any internal engine damage.
