04 navigation suddenly stopped working when I turned the car back on. Says "please insert disk." I've tried popping in and out the disk and the dealership wants 4000 for an entirely new unit! I also have an 08, can I try and put that cd in the 04 to see if it does any updates?


I went back to check the message and it actually says "DVD Disc Read Error. Please consult your dealer."

I think your pretty much out of luck. Try the 08 disk but I doubt it will do anything.

Best bet is to argue with the dealer to bring the price of the replacement down.
