Default p2240 bank 2 sensor 1 location for 2003 accord v6

Hi everyone, glad to have found this forum. Just bought a 2003 accord v6 yesterday and the check engine light came on after the transaction was done on the way home.

Took the car to Autozone and was told that P2240 is O2 sensor (location2) $141.00. Wonder if anyone that has the picture of the exact location of the sensor can share it here. Also how hard it's to replace? Is it a DIY thing.

The guy at autozone also told me that's the only error code so he's pretty sure it's the o2 sensor.

Thanks in advance.

See this thread for image. Yours is the A/F sensor in the front when you open the hood. Pretty straight forward diy. A 22mm oxygen sensor socket and ratchet or breaker bar will do the trick.

Thank you very much...redbull-1. Will check it out.

From your experience, could it be anything else? Thanks again.

I would reset the ECU first. You can disconnect the negative battery cable then reconnect to reset it. If it comes back after a while, then I would replace it. It shouldn't be anything else that would cause that code for your car.

You will need your radio code though if you remove the negative battery cable.

Thanks redbull-1, did like what you receommended...pull negative batt, change the sensor (got it from pepboys oem bosch for 89.99), reconnect batt and the check engine light is gone.

The radio code (5 digits) that came with the car seems to be wrong. Enter it twice, the first time got error1 second time error2. Afraid to try anyome. Wonder how many times error before the radio lock-up. Guess will try again tomorrow. Is there any special direction in entering the code. I just punch in the code, when the radio is on show "CODE", using the 6 presets button. Guess have to pay honda dealer monday if still getting cannot get the radio working.

Thanks, have a good day!

Just disconnect the negative battery cable again. Then try again on the radio code.

Most dealers won't even charge you. They should be open tomorrow too.
