Icon6 O2 Sensor (Upstream) connector won't come loose

I have a 2005 Accord EX 4 cylinder with around 115k miles. Was trying to replace the upstream O2 Sensor but am having hell trying to get the connector apart. I broke the tab on the old O2 sensor trying to get it to separate.

Here is a picture of my new Denso O2 connector:

Was trying to figure out what I am doing wrong. It will move a little but not disconnect. I pushed on the tab on the old one and it still didn't move. Any tricks I am missing? Do I need to unbolt the metal part holding the male to the block to get it out? I am very frustrated at what should be a simple procedure! Help!!

try to pull the old tab up instead of pushing down to clear the notch. Try to get a good look of whats actually holding the connector from coming up.

If you're pushing down on the plastic part, you can pry the connector at the edge very carefully with a screw driver and it should come off.

I can't pry up the old tab any since it is gone. I can see the litttle tit sticking up on the male connector, I thought that was only what held the pieces together. I think I am going to look at the downstream O2 sensor connector under the front passenger seat to see how it is connected. I would think the connector should be the exactly the same. It is so much easier to get to and look at I would assume. Just don't want to break anything on the connector harness itself, that would be bad!

Thanks so much, I will give it a try and let you know how it goes. I assume it is just stuck because from what everything I read, the little tab on the O2 side of the connector is what only holds it in place. Now that I broke that off there is nothing holding it to the little nub on the harness side.

Thanks,

Dave

Got the old connector off finally! It was just very, very tight I guess. I sprayed some electronic cleaner in there first then used the small screwdriver to pry it off. Just was a little paranoid about breaking the engine harness male connector. Will unscrew the O2 sensor and replace it with the Denso and hopefully, the check engine light will go off.

Got the O2 sensor to unscrew after I let it run for a minute. Came off easy-peasy. Reset the check engine light and knock on wood, it has not come back on yet.
