Default New Rotors or Resurfacing???

I drive a 2007 Honda Accord and the steering wheel begins to shake when I step on the brakes while driving on the freeway. I called two different places and they told me it is the rotors and I might need new rotors. When I went to one of the place I called and finally got the brakes inspected (in person by a car mechanic), the mechanic told me the rotors only needs to be resurface (the front and the back).

I decided to come back and get some recommendations before getting the service done.

Should I get new rotors or the suggestion of resurfacing is what I needed?

I just don't want to get RIP off making sure.

If they're within service limit you can have them resurfaced, but if they're beyond their service limit or are otherwise terribly warped, you need new ones.

Resurfacing is relatively inexpensive, and since it is what was recommended, I'd try that first.

However, if it were my car, I'd just get new rotors.

I would resurface the rotors until they are below spec. There is no point in replacing the rotors if they can be cut. Save your money. A machine shop can cut them for you for $25

This is an old thread, but anyhow.

I would check to see if the wheels are balanced too, or if there are any wheels with damage.

As for brakes, OP got a 07. Would the rotors really be warped? Sure anything can happen and does happen. Just throwing it out there. There are people on their 2nd set of pads without a need to resurface their rotors.
