Icon5 Need help to reset SRS/Airbag light on 2012 Honda Accord

Hi guys, I have 2012 Honda Accord. And suddenly a while ago SRS light came on. I'm not sure, but it's probably came on after I put a package on a passenger's seat. I don't remember which was that passenger's seat, front or rear. It was a large box, but not heavier than 50-60 Lbs. Again, I'm not sure if it occurred after that. But anyway I don't usually drive with passengers.

I recently went to a local Honda dealership to change passenger's airbag due to a recall. They wanted me to pay $100 for diagnostics of that light, but I refused. I think it's too much since they possible only read code and don't go deep into researching the reason. Now I'm currently trying to identify the issue by myself. I already connected 4 and 9 pins in OBD2 port and read some data. Need to write it down. Will post it later today.

But I also want to try to reset the SRS light. Just to make sure it's not an old (historical) code which still lives there while the problem was temporarily.

I read that on older Hondas there is a MES port and I learned how to work with that MES in order to reset an SRS light. I also found few threads regarding SRS light here, but unfortunately there is no info posted in these threads bout how to manually reset SRS light on these 2008-2012 Accords:

https://honda-tech.com/forums/honda-...coupe-3283565/
https://honda-tech.com/forums/honda-...light-3279412/
https://honda-tech.com/forums/honda-...light-3268731/

So now I have few questions:

1) Is there any MES port in 2012 Accord? I see a yellow 2 wire connector like on the photo in that first mentioned thread, but I'm not sure if it's a MES or not. If there is a MES port then how can I 100% make sure it's the right one among dozens of other ports.
2) If there is no MES then please tell how can I manually reset SRS light without special devices. At this moment I'd like to go the most affordable way. I got confirmation that INNOVA 3160 can read and erase SRS codes on 2012 Accord, but I'd like to do it manually first.
3) If there is no MES then is there a SCS connector in 2012 Accords? I see it may be used too, but information here corresponds to 6th gen Accord: http://www.diymyhonda.com/accord/scs...and-srs-reset/
4) On this page: https://honda-tech.com/forums/tech-m...-list-3111979/ under section "All HONDAs from 2002-2011" I don't see codes starting with 7. It seems that my code is 7-1, but again I need to write it down first. Is there any reason there are no codes starting with 7 in that section?
5) Is there any better device in the same price range +/- than Innova 3160 for checking Honda Accord trouble codes including ABS/SRS. I'd really like to use my smartphone, but it seems that cheap BT/Wi-Fi OBD devices can read only MIL codes. Maybe there is a proven brand for Hondas which can read and erase everything for Honda Accords 2008-2012?

Thanks in advance.

Here is what see when I connect pin 4 and pin 9 in OBD port and turn ignition ON (ii). I made a VIDEO and posted it on YouTube:

As you can see I have long 7 flashes and 1 short flash and then everything repeats. Thus I think that error 71 or 7-1 is there.
Now I'm looking at this page: https://honda-tech.com/forums/tech-m...-list-3111979/
According to that page it's still not clear, but it seems that my 7-1 code may mean "Internal Failure Of SRS Unit. Inspect Battery System Voltage, If Voltage Is Low, Repair Charging System Prior To Troubleshooting SRS System".

Now I have several questions which I need to answer first before proceeding further:

1) This error doesn't tell me anything. I read here and there and people replace SRS Control Units which some say are shitty. So do you think I should replace SRS Control Unit or the problem may be elsewhere too? It it was a belt related error it would be much easier to understand and probably fix.
2) Any chances that this code is historical and not permanent?
3) Any way to reset it? I just need to make sure that this code stays there or not after being reset. I tried to look around that fuse box around OBD port and even plugged out a yellow connector, but it seems it's not SCS/MES. Thus Idk how to reset that SRS code. I see that on older Hondas there was a MES port, but what should I do with my 2012 Accord in order to reset that code?

Any ideas?

Also it's interesting that 2008-2010 Accords are recalled for faulty RS Electronic Control Units: Statement by American Honda Regarding SRS Electronic Control Unit Recall: 2008-2010 Honda Accord Sedan - Honda.com

But 2011-2012 not.

Also I just checked that paperwork that I received after my last visit to a local Honda Dealership and I see they did exactly this:

A 17-002: Passenger Airbag Inflator
Cause: F
7540A3 Safety Recall Campaign (6EB): Takata Front Passenger Airbag S/B: 17-002
185 W94
1 04790-TA0-407 06999 Kit, Inflator Comp
Now I also see i.e. on HondaPartsNow store they sell SRS Control Unit for $238:

https://www.hondapartsnow.com/parts-...nit.html?PNC=4

But again I'm not sure that I need to pull the trigger and swap SRS Control Unit... :

Update from today's day 7-24-2017:

I went to a local dealer and they read code 71-10. Unfortunately, I didn't have a chance to speak with mechanic due manager said "you can not stay here" when I went inside their garage. I saw their system pulled a description, but they just put "71-10 Open in seat belt position" in their papers which they gave me.

Now I need to figure out this:

1) Full description of the code.
2) How Honda assumes to diagnose the issue.
3) Will Honda cover it under warranty or not?
