Default Navigation "voice" is scratchy

So I have a 2003 Honda Accord with the navigation system. About 2-3 months ago, the navigation voice started to crackle when it "talked" (both the male and female versions). This is the only sound that is crackled, the radio/cd and the ipod dock i have connected to the AUX port have perfect sound quality.

BTW the ipod adapter I have installed is a USA Spec (PA11-HON2y). I don't know if this is what is to blame for the problem, but the voice started crackling about 6 months AFTER I installed the dock (see the other ipod forum if you want to ask me questions about the dock), so i suspect that it is the actual navigation system and not the ipod adapter.

Anyone having this problem and/or tried to fix it?

Thanks for the help!

Since it seems like you suspect the adapter why don't you try to unhook it to be sure?

Default Re: (Ross 2.0)

I would do that, but that would involve tearing apart the entire center dash to get access to the back of the nav system. I was going to do this when I had some time over x-mas break when i have more time, however i wanted to see if anyone had a less invasive solution before i went at it the hard way.

I have, however, attempted to disconnect just the external adapter from the nav (which is connected to the back through a chord), and I had no luck with the voice. This probably means there's something wrong with the nav voice output itself, or there is a problem with the wire that connects the ipod adapter to the aux port (which is causing some kind of interference).

If i dont get any replies I'll just tear it all apart in December during break and let you guys know how it goes.

Default Navi Problem

I am having the same issue. It must be the Navi itself. I dont have the Ipod thing. My Navi is in my 04 Accord V6.
