Default just learned a cool feature on my 2004 accord

Hey guys!

Im sure some of you accord gurus know this, but i am stoked to have just learned this:

Put the key in the door, turn it once, and that one door locks/unlocks.

Turn the key twice, all 4 doors lock or unlock.

NOW, on that second turn, HOLD the key turned, and all 4 windows will go up or down (depending on which way you turn the key)

AWESOME!!!! for hot days!

Or you could just hold the unlock button on your keyless for the windows to go down?

Here is another one. I didn't know the sun visor slides out and extend to help you block the sun. Didn't know that until 2 years into our 06 Accord.

The remote down is a great feature but sucks that you can't get them back up with the remote. Picture it, the car is outside on a hot day so you have the windows down already, and then a thuderstorm sneaks up and you have to go run outside to get the windows up, only thing the remote down is good for is to air out the car on a hot day as you walk up... And to make people think your car is way cooler than it actually is.

Or even just a way to lock up your car and rolled up all the windows automatically. I wish Honda would have that feature too.

Especially with kids, you don't know if your rear windows are slightly opened, when there are 100 things to do to get eveyone out of the car. The only attention one could spare is pressing the lock button.

When you think about it. How often do we lock up the doors of the car with the windows down? The passive security system is turned on. Doesn't it make sense to for the windows to roll up too?

Would've been nice if (with the doors locked) you could unlock the driver door from the inside door handle.

So I'm not crazy.. for some reason my wife always tried to convince me I could put the windows UP with the remote and I just haven't figured it out.

those features have been in other makes for years. volkswagen/audi has had the key/window rolldown for years, and GM SUV's and trucks have had the visor extender also. nothing new, but it is pretty helpful when needed.

For me, I don't like this feature because the there is no lock on the extend. So when I try to strighten up and use the armrest to balance, I feel like I'm slipping.

that is what the owners manual is for.....

you unlock the doors twice using the key fob...then on the 2nd time, you can hold the unlock button and the windows go down, or you can hold it downt he 3rd or 4th time and it will still go down so you can readjust how far you want the windows down....

i love doing this when its hot out, instead of opening all doors to air out....

I'm having a problem with one of these operations. When I try to close the windows using the key in method and turning it and holding it, the windows don't roll up, nothing happens. The opposite works though, when I hold down the unlock button on the remote and the windows roll down.

Does it have to be reprogrammed or some sequence to have it working again? Problem started after a car accident and the repair shop (express auto, chicago, IL) did not do a 100% good job in fixing my door windows/regulators (could hear they are a bit loose).

If the shop had to replace the actuator, maybe they forgot to reconnect the wires, or used the wrong actuator. (Do DX models have the window up/down feature?). Don't think it would have to be reprogramed, but not positive. I've never even lost the auto up/down feature, and I've disconnected/replaced the battery many times.
Not having the ability to roll the windows up with the remote is probably a safety concern with people or animals suffocating in a hot car because the button on the remote was accidentally pushed. They force you to walk up to the car, so you can see if anyone is inside, before rolling all the windows up.

Yeah, thats a pretty cool feature. I live the fact that you can unlock only 1 door for safety reasons, especially when you have your car parked at a place that may not exactly be safe.
The window thing is really cool though.

This is why I joined the forum, to learn cool stuff like this. I wonder if I can do that in my 2012 Honda Accord.

That's why you have an owner's manual. Read it, and you will probably learn a lot of things you didn't know. Different models have different features, but the owner's manual will have the specific details on your particular model.
