I just purchased a 2014 Accord Touring and installed both ambient lighting and illuminated door sills. While testing to see how well I installed the sills, I noticed the interior lights dim when I close the door to about 50% power and then go off 30 seconds later. Not sure if they dimmed prior to the installation.

While at the dealer earlier today, I looked at a new Sport Accord (without sills) and noticed its lights do not dim when the door is closed.

This harness is a plug and play application so I am not sure if I have a problem or this is just a feature to dim the light once you are inside the vehicle (on Touring trim).

I would assume you're fine. Most vehicles these days do it. My '05 Odyssey LX does. Did you check the owner's manual?
