How to tell which model Accord it is?
A friend is looking at a 2003 Accord sedan with the 4 cylinder and we are trying to figure out what model it is. The owner bought it used, and says he doesn't know, but he is assuming the dx, but says he doesn't know the difference between it and the lx. The car doesn't say on it anywhere, and it's definitely one of those two. Is there an easy way to tell? He has priced it according to the dx on KBB. Is there a big price difference between the two?

2003 LX adds power locks and mirrors, side/curtain airbags, cruise control, air conditioning according to http://www.edmunds.com/honda/accord/2003/ The DX was pretty stripped.

I'm going to take a chance to say there were no DX Accords for the Gen 7. Meaning dealers did not order them. The DX did not have factory air and had to be dealer installed which adds $1,500 to the price. That would price it above the LX, and made no sense in the marketplace.
Sure they may have been lost leaders for advertising purposes, the the lowest you'll find on any Honda lot was the LX.
Also, people no longer accept hand crank windows at that time, in that price range.

Since you and I are old, we recall the days of hand crank windows.
I know some became harder to crank when they get old, but I don't think I recall one that ever "failed", on dad's or uncle's cars.
Bitch to closed when it starts to rain and you still need to stay on the road, but other than that, hand crank windows are ok in my book.

Well, it sold before we got to test drive it. However, I think it was the LX, and he just didn't know. It had the LX hub caps on it anyway.
