How To Program Key Fob on 06 Accord?
Sup Everyone,
I cant lock\unlock or open the trunk using the key remote. It stopped working from one day to the next. Initially i thought maybe the battery needs to be replaced but the red light illuminates on the key remote whenever i press a button. I think it just may need to be re-programmed. I thought i saw instructions somewhere on the forum. Anyone know where i might find this information?
Note: I'm not referring to the immobilizer or chip in the key. That works perfectly fine.
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. btw, i tried search but it didnt yield any positive results.
Thanks

Re: How To Program Key Fob on 06 Accord?
replace the battery in your original first. then reprogram them. To do this
Turn key on Hit lock button on fob
turn key off
turn key on hit lock button on fob
turn key off
turn key on hit lock button on fob
turn key off
turn key on hit lock button on fob
you should hear the door lock actuators work(you are in the programming mode)
hit lock buttons on both fobs you should hear the door actuators working with each button press.
Turn ign switch to off
Remove key and viola Whatever keyless remotes will work will work then.
You must do each step quickly for success. BTW most service advisors at dealerships will perform this operation free of charge. If you are not successful on the first attempt try again until it works. Hope this helps.
