How to change the color of the instrument cluster?

So now that I have officially changed all of my interior lighting to blue, my instrument cluster looks sort of misplaced, being the bright white that it is.

I've looked into changing the bulbs on the cluster out for blue led's, but it seems much too complicated and i really don't want to mess up. Also how the lights dim when you turnt he headlights on and everything. I'm just not sure if regular led's will work.

So I got to thinking...

What if I just took the face out and painted over the white marks on it? I have a 2003 accord sedan, and I was looking at it the other day, and right above the speedometer there are 2 screws on that little overhang. It looks like you can just unscew those, and pull that frame out, then from there just remove the clear plastic panel.

After that, going over the cluster with something that is clear enough to let the light through, but dark enough to make the said light blue, should work, right?

If there is an easier way to do this, let me know, because the white lights on it now just look weird against all my other blue lights...haha ThankS!!

Ill call around tomorrow to see if I can find any colored vinyl so I dont have to order it online. I have all this week off, so its the pefect time to spend a few hours doing this

I spent 2 hours finding vinyl, and didn't find any.

So I went to meijers (like walmart) and bought a transparent blue file folder, and just cut that. It works wonderfully.

Re: How to change the color of the instrument cluster?

not at all. It took my 2.5 hours, but that was me being really careful. Now that I've done it, I could do it again in maybe half the time.

I was scared that I would crack or break something, but unless your being careless, its near impossible to break something.

The part I love most, total cost, $2.50 haha And I have a pink, purple, green, and yellow folder, so I can do other people's cars too XD

Or you can change the color of yours when you get bored of it! Good to hear. I'm excited to do it.

I'm not sure. I dont see why it wouldn't, however, if it is set up differently, it may not work.

IMO, try it. Worst that happens is you took the whole thing apart for nothing. Everything just fits back together with snaps and like, I think a total of 5 screws all together.
