Just added myself to this site, ive had a honda for over a year now and ive been wanting to install a double din head unit. I was hoping to instill it in the upper area but if only really found kits for the lower compartment. Ive seen better looking kits for the 2006 accords but for the 2004 they look like ****.. I wanted to know if i can fit a 2006 kit in the upper area ? otherwise ill have to get a lower compartment kit.

I also have concerns on the altonator in my car, she at 120,000 + miles. I bought the car when it had 80,000 or so on it. My concern is that when i install a head unit and my subwoffers, will my altornator need to be replaced or should it be fine ?

Alternator should be fine. I didn't replace mine and it doesn't seem like my system is drawing too much power for the alternator. It has no problem charging the battery while im thumping 1000W of sub-woofer goodness. For your head unit i found that same problem with my 06 accord. double din only on the bottom compartment (which i use alot) or a really ugly looking head unit that replaces the factory unit with only 1 din. blah.

For something like that i found my only option is to buy an aftermarket NAV system that is suppose to replicate the stock one. It looks good. has touch screen and all that as well as upgrades you to climate control. if that isn't what you want and you want to put in your own head unit like a pioneer or something you will be making a custom head unit face plate based on the single din that you can buy and moving the controls around so it fits. No-one has made one yet. maybe you can be the first!
