Help with part identification, please!
Hi all,
Changed my transmission fluid today - simple drain and fill x3. Drove car and runs fine and is shifting a bit smoother. When I went to pour the old ATF into the empty containers I found this part (looks like a cotter pin) at the bottom of the drain pan. Follow this link...

Any idea what this if from? Can it be from inside the transmission? Seems to me the answer to the second question has to be no. If that thing was in floating around in there prior to me draining it it surely would have destroyed the transmission, right? Dime included in the picture for size reference.
Help! Thanks in advance...

Thanks, Justin. Sorry, I should have mentioned it is from a 2005 Honda Accord EX-L with a V6.
Seems small for a ball joint cotter pin, no?

Mystery solved! Came off the floor jack I used - wow, how did it pop off and end up in the drain pan.
Talk about relief!
