are the grille necessary?
i own a 2003 honda accord 2DR.
two days ago i found my grille and front bumper cracked, i dunt know what happened, im assuming someone was messing around and got carried away..
i cant really afford to buy new bumpers or grilles so i decided to just tape the bumper up for now and just take off the grille. but is the grille neccessary? i'm thinking of just leaving it that way for a while but i'm afraid that it might be easier for people to mess with the car? like maybe it'd be easier to pop open the hood? i dunt know. please let me know if that would be a bad idea, to leave the grilles off, or should i really buy new ones? thanks.

It's mostly cosmetic, but I suppose it offers a little protection for the A/C condenser from road debris. As far opening your hood, a piece of plastic wouldn't slow down most thieves anyway.

the problem is that i'm in college right now and im a bit short on money, so i rather just leave it that way for a while.. but in other words, it should be okay leaving it that way other than the fact that rocks will hit the inside? because if it makes it any easier for people to mess with my car or steals it, i guess i'll go buy a new grille.

The coupe grill is not much of an opening. I think a lot more things can get to the condenser through the large opening at the bottom of the bumper. I also doubt anyone could open the hood through that opening. So, I don't think it would hurt anything to leave the grill off. Except of course the "looks".
If this act was strong enough to crack the bumper, it was not a mistake. You have to hit the bumper pretty hard to crack it.

In a Junkyard near you.
You can't open the hood without force from the front of the car. If your car is on the ground it's virtually imposable to open the hood without breaking something. I'm not going into any details because I don't want to give a thief any ideas.
