Default Front wheel noise.

My son's 2007 Accord EX has a noise coming from the passenger side front wheel when turning to the left. I checked it out on a jack stand it it seemes the CV Joint boot is making a rubbing noise turning the wheel by hand. A road test told me it might be more than that. It sounds like a rubbing noise, but if you roll up the window on that side you can barely here it. Is the CV joint going on that side? The car has a 2.4 24 valve motor and a 5sp trans. with 92 K on it. Is thing something I need to address now, or can wait until it gets worse?

Thanks!

George

Check the bolts on upper control arm. If not what was your fix?

I haven't had a chance to take a second look at it yet. Would the CV joint or wheel bearing cause this noise?

a "rubbing" noise? has to say without hearing it but generally is might sound like a dry bearing noise if you are familiar with that. otherwise if dirt is up in the boot and it could also cause a slight grinding noise, but either of these are pretty extreme. I think the joint itself would probably give up the ghost first and cause a clicking noise.

you could also try and look for debris in the disk area, between the pad and rotor.
