Front Cig lighter not working
Hi Guys,
I just got sound system installed in my '08 Accord Sedan bout a week ago. I have one 12" Sony Xplod sub with Alpine m500 amp. I tried using my gps using my cig outlet and could not get any power out of it. My gps works when I connect it to my glove box accessory outlet. Any help? I visually checked the fuses, they seem to be fine....

Re: Front Cig lighter not working
I checked the plug last night. It was plugged in. Even try to get the voltage reading from it. Nothing. The one in the glove box reads 12 Volts. I think there might be a problem with the wiring coming to the cig lighter....

easy way to see if its the fuse or the cig lighter....use a test light on the fuses make sure your reading it correctly...then test the socket with the test light.....and report back

double check your fuses like everyone says. i dont know how the cigarrete lighter assembly are setup but i know at one point i was working on a lexus with the same scenario and somebody popped the fuse. because they shove in a car charger that pushes the tabs back and cause it to short.. same thing probably here check to see if the tabs are not pushed back. but just a thought. double check your fuses

Hey im a tech at acura and its a known problem with TSXs and Accords. It has nothing to do with the fuses the problem is in the outlet itself. The power element was poorly made and isnt resessed deep enough and grounds itself out on its metal housing. Honda has designed a new outlet that is resessed deeper into plastic to prevent this from happening. Go to your local dealer and have them replace it under warrenty.
