First Time Car Buyer - Good Deal on 2007 Accord?
Hi,
Somehow managed to make it to 30 and never had to buy a car. Wondering if the fine folks here can help me out and see if this is a good deal or not.
Private seller (fellow employee at my company though i don't know him personally) is offering a 2007 Accord LX with 115,000 miles for $7000. The high miles is mostly due to him commuting over 150 miles o/w twice a week over the last year and a half.
Car has gotten all its regular tune-ups and just had an oil change and got new tires last weekend. Owner is having a full inspection done tomorrow, and will get me the carfax as well. He is the second owner (first was his fiancee's mother, who sold it to him and fiancee 3.5 years ago) and he says the car has a clean history with only one fender bender a couple months ago. It left a 6 inch crack in the front bumper but nothing major. Otherwise, body looks to be in good condition with only expected scratches in the paint.
Given ALL of this, someone tell me I'm an idiot to not take this deal, or vice versa. KBB says a car with these specs in FAIR condition would be worth $7225, but he says he'd be looking to sell at $8500 (KBB: GOOD condition price) in open market sale.
Thanks and sorry for being so long winded.

I wouldn't buy a car that's 5 years old with over 60k miles personally, but if the KBB for the same year is 8500, why not get one with less miles for a little more?

Its not a bad deal but for that amount of money if you spend some more time u can find a car that u would really like and enjoy to drive.. Take your time look around i say that from experience haha
