Evap problems
I have a 2003 accord with a code p2422, I think my cansister is cloged, Every time i fill up with gas ,the pump turns off every 2 seconds. I am trying to take off the gas tank vent hose going down to the cansister, but I can't remove it. Looks like the hose has some kind of lock on it, has anyone seen this???
Thanks

If you can't post directly to this forum yet, can you post at some site like photobucket, etc. and link here?
Regardless, are you trying to disconnect the hose at the canister end or the tank end?

Re: Evap problems
Most of the hoses at the canister end should just unplug or be held on with a clamp (using a needle nose plier to squeeze clamp to release). Unless I see a picture, I can't picture it in my mind.
Based on the TSB link I posted earlier, the fix is usually to replace the drain joint, the Canister Vent Shut (CVS) Valve, and possibly the canister. In the image I've attached, "B" is the CVS valve, a new o-ring should be installed too; but, do not coat the o-ring with oil. To remove the CVS valve, just pry the lock tabs gently (A). I didn't find anything showing some kind of lock connector you are referring to.
So, I'm not sure if you need to take off the 5/8" hose you are referring to. A picture would greatly help though.

Re: Evap problems
the picture you sent is dead on, But look at the last pic. its not the hoses that go to the evap shut off, its the bigger of the two that go to the right side of the cansister. Also would you know the part number of the evap shut off or does it come with the cansister, I really think the its all bad, The car has 300,000 on it but it runs great.
Thanks again

Re: Evap problems
The hose I believe you are referring to is shown with the arrow in the first image attached, and the "A" circled in the second image. It looks like the hose connector may just unscrew (counter-clockwise). You only need to detach this if you were removing the entire canister. So, you would not even have to detach this if you were just replacing the CVS valve.
I can't find the part number for the Canister Vent Shut (CVS) valve yet.

Re: Evap problems
Just a quick update,
I was able to pull off that gas tank vent line, there was a major vaccuum in that line. Also my cansister was clog with gas. My CVS and fuel pressure senor does look like both are working, due to the fact my engine light is off with the vent line NOT connected. I do have a feeling that it will go back on once the fuel tank sensor see NO pressure at all in that line. I am going to pick up an new cansister , will update then.
Thanks again
