i was wondering what i should expect to pay to get the timing belt replaced on my 2003 accord coupe LX V6 3.0 ?

people said it should of been replaced at around 105,000 miles, and mine has 166,000 miles now and still not been replaced yet !!!, and i need to get it done as soon as possible !, and i would also be getting waterpump and those other needed things done at the same time too,

my friend who is a mobile mechanic said he would do it for $250, and i know he does it right since he replaced timing belt on my 90 crx back in 2012, and it has been running fine ever since, so he did that one right.

i got a quote online saying some shops would do it from between $385 - $550, and some let you bring your own parts if its cheaper, would i need to buy a honda timing belt kit ? i mean does it have to be honda or does it matter ?

any opinions would help, thanks

$250 sounds good. I would check https://www.hondapartsnow.com/ and similar sites to see what OEM runs and see if you can live with it. Seems like my wife spent $500-ish for non-oem at a local shop that charges a lot less than most. Definitely want to do idler pulleys, tensioner and water pump while he's in there. OEM water pump is probably very expensive though.

Check with dealers, sometimes they will match and some may also work if you get your own parts.

Try to get OEM, My Accord is a 4cyl so it has a chain.

For my Sienna, I got the parts from RockAuto and took them to the local dealer and they did it for like 325. You will need to change the coolant too.
