Default Checking the Auto Tranny

Is there a way to check if a V6 Auto tranmission is having problems? My daughter is looking at one and I'm a little worried about the auto transmission problems with the auto. How would I test it to see if there is a problem with this car before she buys it?

Thanks

Default Re: Checking the Auto Tranny (tr7driver)

if it does any of the following when cold, pass it up

Harsh reverse engagement
Delayed forward engagement
delay between shifts
some shifts are NOTICABLY harder than others
Fluid is NOT light pink or bright red (depends on car) Honda fluid is a pinkish color
Fluid smells burnt
any leaks
