one of the front fans cycles on and off repeatedly when i am stopped (far too often in atlanta traffic). the fan turns on for about 10 seconds, then shuts off for 5 seconds, repeat. last summer i was also having problems with the a/c not blowing cold air while stopped in traffic (outside temps in the 90s). i had the alternator and battery replaced a few weeks back after the car just died at a stop light. now the lights dim slightly every time the fan turns on.

is this a bad fan, condenser, and alternator wiring combo? if so, how much will it cost to fix? the car has $88K miles on it- i know the timing belt (and everything that goes with it) will need to be replaced in the near future.
