a/c not and radiator fan not working
So a cute lady friend of mine is having issues with her 2004 Honda accord. Nothing comes on when the a/c is turned on. Being the single mechanically enclined man I am I said ill fix it. I went to auto zone to see about any error codes but with no engine light on there was nothing to check the man there pointed out that the radiator fan was not working too. I tested both motors by directly connecting them to the batterys. The motor that is flush on the end of the fan guard on the passenger side works, But the Motor that is on the driver side which protrudes out of the fan guard on the drivers side does not work. When directly connected to the battery. This seems like the obvious problem, But what is bewildering me is the fact that the blower doesn't kick on in the cab. I was wondering if I could get a more experienced opinion on this. All help is appreciated

Re: a/c not and radiator fan not working
Nothing to do with A/C, including condenser fan, [drivers side one] will turn on unless the blower motor works, [turns on], so first thing to do is check for power at the blower plug, [white/blue lead].
To be of more help I need the Accords trim level, [DX, EX or LX] engine size, [2.4L or 3L] and if it has an automatic HVAC control or a manual HVAC control.
Power at the white/blue lead at blower motor plug makes no diff. to trim level, engine size or auto or manual HVAC control, the white/blue must have power on it when ign. switch is on. 94

Re: a/c not and radiator fan not working
1. On the 4 cylinders, the driver's side cooling fan is the radiator fan. That motor will need replacement if the motor doesn't run when directly powered by 12volt battery power.
2. Inside the cabin, turn the blower fan to the highest fan setting, does the A/C run?

Re: a/c not and radiator fan not working
PS- You read codes from the HVAC unit thru the actual HVAC unit - ok unless you work at Honda and have the HDS. Without that it is as simple as pressing and holding a few buttons on the unit in the proper order. How to do this, well that is the point where "atuo" hvac vs "normal" hvac comes into play.
Again, I have no idea where "94" or the "old fart" is trying to go.....but from what I've seen of his posts that is nothing new.

Guess what, blower not working = check for power to blower motor, about the only thing that is common for both auto and manual HVAC control system trouble shooting.
That is where I am going, how about you? 94
