A/C low side pressure excessive
Hi all, very nice forum here, this is my first post and I'm hoping you can point me in the right direction.
My mom has a 2003 Accord LX, 2.3L. Her AC is not working. I checked the low side pressure with a cheesy charging gauge and it was very high--perhaps 90-100psi.
The fans operate correctly. The compressor clutch does not engage--I would guess because of the over-pressure switch (assuming one exists).
Her AC was overhauled about 2-3 years ago and had functioned quite well up until recently. It has not been serviced since then, so I am ruling out an "overcharged" situation.
Tomorrow I will rent a set of manifold gauges and try to get some accurate high/low side numbers. Should i also try to manually engage teh compressor clutch by attempting to tap it? If it does engage does that mean that my problems are just a clutch gap that is too wide?
Any other advice would be appreciated!
Thanks in advance for any help!

So, ambient temperature is 87 degrees. Low side measures 78psi, high side at 110 psi.
Tapping on the clutch did not cause the compressor to engage.
