Default A/C help needed!

2004 Accord EX V6. Intermittently after starting the car, when you put the A/C on, the compressor does not come on, only hot air. If you shut it off and restart the car and put the A/C on again, the compressor now starts and works ok. About every other day this happens. The dealer said they replaced the coil. It worked for 1 day and then the same thing happened. Any thoughts on what the problem could be? Thank you.

I would go to the dealer and buy a replacement for the a/c compressor relay in the under hood fuse panel. They are under $20 IIRC and we commonly see problems with them sticking in the open or closed position.

Next time it's not working open the fuse panel and give the relay a couple of taps. If the a/c cycles on you know you have a bad relay.

I changed the relay this morning & the problem still exists. I just brought it back to the dealer for the 3rd time. The said the forman will look at. Thats a good idea to tap on the relays, I wish I would have done that this morning when it went bad again. Thank you.

are you sure the compressor is not coming on, or is it just blowing hot air.

We have had 2 cars we replaced the coil on that failed again due to a bad coil from the factory so I hope the dealer isn't ruling that out.
