Default Brother buying 09 Accord any advice

my brother is looking to buy a 09 Accord Sedan Automatic. he's trying to crunch some numbers to see if he can afford the V6. either way its going to be EX-L. he loves the leather and the stereo system.

anyways any options/accessories he should look into getting? he has a garmin nuvi, actually everyone in the family has one. so he's not looking to get the navi.

personally if i was him i'd get a 06-07 TL. but that's me.

Hey, I bought the LX-P a few weeks ago. I wish I could have afforded the EX-L. What I like most about my car is the Bluetooth. I did not get the Honda Bluetooth. THe Dealer actually sold me a "better" model by Advent. I am probably doing to by me a Garmin Nuvi. In all, I love the car.

If you load the car down with a lot of people and/or cargo I would recommend the v6. Pros: extra power and torque
cons: eco mode(where the engine shuts down cylinders while cruising), has timing belt that needs eventual replacement. Gas mileage.

The ex-l 4 cylinder is actually pretty impressive.
Pros: Gas mileage, timing chain, no eco mode, easier to work on. etc.

Personally I would get the 4 cylinder with leather/navi etc.

umm its VCM and not ECO mode and its not a con, 1. you never feel anything when engine is running on 3cyl and 2 it saves gas so how is this a con. If you can afford the V6 then get it you will enjoy it more.

The EXL V6 loaded is the best choice if you have the money. I just bought a 2009 coupe. Very nice and the V6 has passing power! The 'tooth and Navi are excellent. Voice commands an additional touch. OK, heated seats, yada, yada, yada. It's all good.

Go to carcomplaints.com and lookup the 2008's.They are the same as the 09's.
Try a general search on the car with" trouble" behind it.
If that don't make you think there is over 200 complaints on the new accords on the NHTSA website

with the economy the way it is now, you can get STEALS on new cars

go on the last day of the month. have your set price in hand.

check on line, and on forums to see what others are paying currently for the model you want.

make sure they dont try to sneak in some crap fees on the contract.

or start with $2,500 to $2,000 back invoice. get buy rate. make sure you dont pay hold back and that shipping fee (depends on state). down depends on credit. compare terms 60 months or 72 months payment (rates maybe a little higher but no more than a point).

We just purchased an 09 EX-L coupe. You definetely feel the change to 3 cylinders from 6. It is a noticeable deal. This is backed up by the "eco" light coming on on the dash. You cannot feel when it goes to 4 cylinders from 6 when the "eco" light comes on. Either way, neither is a bad deal as I would rather get better gas mileage. By the way, there is no confirmation of running on 3, 4 or 6 cylinders however I've built enough engines in my life to know when one bank of cylinders is no longer running. Just my 2 cents. So far, we love the car!

I'd get a TL since a V6 is within a few K of a loaded base TL

Test drive the automatic V6 with VCM extensively - despite what many will tell you, and Honda's advertising, the switching from 6-4-3 cylinders IS noticeable - kind of like a transmission hunting between gears, or a surging, even at highway speeds with cruise control on.

with the manual, you get enthusiast resale appeal, and dump the cylinder cutoff.

btw honda v6s still get 28mpg highway without eco-mode. (gf's mom's 06 accord ex-l)
