Broken front and rear sway bar
Took my 03 honda accord for my 120k service. The dealership found both my front and rear sway bar links broken. After doing some research, some signs of broken sway bar links are clunking noise and changes in your steering. I do not have any clunking noise what so ever. But I do have a squeaky noise coming from the rear every time I go over bumps. Are the squeaky noise coming from the broken sway bars or is it something else. So basically my question is, if I replace both front and rear sway bar links, will the squeaky noise go away???
Any help, would be great! I will be taking the car back to the dealership Friday.

Re: Broken front and rear sway bar
You just need the bushings and they are seriously cheap. And VERY easy to replace two bolts, take old ones off sway bar and put new ones on. If they mean the actual end links are broken it would make lots of noise, if you all you have is the squeak on big bumps then it's not the links. Just curious what are they saying it's going to cost?

To replace both front and rear swat-bar links 344.62. But as doing my research they said its ok to drive on broken sway bar because it won't effect your driving much. But if I do replace the, I would like the noise to go away.

Did you actually jack it up and check the sway bars? I rarely heard the sway bar broken let alone both of them! Do you drive the car over dirt roads? The sway bars are there for a purpose, if they are broken, you should replace them. They will affect your car handling and may wear your tires out unevenly. It is not hard to replaced but you must put your car on the jack stands or ramps.

sounds like the stealership wants you to bend over, that much for factory rubber bushings is nuts, you can get some energy suspension ones a lot cheaper and put them in yourself

Re: Broken front and rear sway bar
Bad sway bar bushings will sound like a thud going over bumps.
Broken sway bar end links will almost sound like a bad strut except the noise is a bit higher pitch.
Squeaking/creaking noise, usually worn ball joints.

Re: Broken front and rear sway bar
You will not do any damage driving around on broken swaybar links, but your swaybars won't be able to control the roll and pitch of your car as effectively.
Broken swaybar links are very common on any vehicle that deals with the pothole'd roads of a territory in the snow belt.
But as far as noises are concerned, Almighty-Si gave a pretty good description.
