I've had issues with the master window switches for a long time. They're nothing short of terrible. From some reading on here, it seems like the master switch is not made well and fails quite regularly. I could always manage to get the windows up or down, until this morning. The driver's side window won't go up. All other window buttons and the door lock button still work. I can no longer make the windows go up and down by putting the key in the door lock, turning and holding. The key fob doesn't lock,unlock, or roll the windows down. I suspect the key fob is doing nothing right now. I caught a whiff of burned electronics. The odor is clearly coming from the door. If I put my nose up to the slit where the window comes up, it's definatley strong there. From looking around on the forum it sounds like I need a master switch and window regulator. I'm suspecting the regulator seized and created a load that blew a fuse, resulting in more than just a pesky window issue. Suggestions?

Code monkey is locked in his cube right now. Cannot pull panel yet. I just want to know if any of those symptoms is a smoking gun for window regulator/motor so I can have my wife get the parts. I found another thread on this forum with someone who had the same issue, but no definitive answer, except that the master switch didn't fix it.
