AM reception stinks. what gives?
On my '07 the AM reception is horrible. I can't even get local AM stations that I can get in many other cars. Bone stock stereo system. 6disc/6speakers.

yes. Car is tinted. Most likely with metalic tint. It came tinted, it looks very very nice. One of the best jobs I've seen, but I don't know what kind of film they used. Probably a Llumar metalic film if I had to guess. So I live with the radio issue...

I assume you don't have aftermarket XM installed. That stick on Quick Connect thing suck the life out of your AM stations, even when it's off, on my Accord.
I live on the edge of a county. Some AM stations just don't come in strong unless I get closer to the city. At the same time, AM stations in the other county gets weaker and weaker.
From their point of view, why provide (stong) coverage there, when their target market customers are don't live there?
With that said, I generally get better reception from traditional mask antenna, compare to built in the glass type. It only happens on AM and in that 1/2 mile area where I live where the radio struggles to grab signal from the two counties.
Once near civilization, there is no difference between the performance of in-glass or mask antenna.
Again, it's only where I live now (in AZ). When I was in CA, never had any problems - tint or not.
