Re: Air Bag Light (Accord1234)
Anybody? Cause ever since I got my car, the passanger air bag off only flashes when the car first started and the other night when I was driving the words OFF stayed on.

The SRS in dash (board/gauges) icon/light must be off 6 seconds after you start the car and stay off. if it comes on during drivig, is because there is problem in the SRS system, could be anything from loose conection to SRS module failure, also check the charging system a low voltage may cause SRS faults. if the light stays ON get it checked
good luck.
good luck.

Thats the airbag light in the gauge cluster. Isn't it normal for it to say passenger air bag off if no one is sitting in that seat? Mine has always done it anyway.

Re: Air Bag Light (Accord1234)
The "passenger airbag off" light can come on for several reasons. Mostly if the Occupant Position Detection Sensor (OPDS) unit in the passenger seat determines that the person in the passenger seat is sitting in a position that the airbag will cause more harm then good or if it detects that the person is to small to benefit from the airbags deployment.
The OPDS system will also turn it off if you set something like a purse or briefcase on the passenger seat as it misreads it as a small person. Occasionally interference from a cell phone can also shut it off.
As long as the light comes on and off and the main SRS light in the cluster is off the system is functioning normally.

That makes sense. When I put something inthe pass seat, the side curtain airbag says it is off-because it realizes that there is not an actual person in the seat I guess.

It's not the side curtain it's the actual passenger airbag.

Re: Air Bag Light (someone else)
Ok, thats good then. Cause the main air bag light in the dash has never stayed on, juts the one in the middle for the passsenger side. I actually had like a tee shirt on the seat when this happened. I wonder if the sensor can be so sensitive.
