Accord won't run. Any ideas?
I'll start out by saying this is a 2006 Honda Accord V6 6speed with 214k miles. I was driving down the interstate last weekend and it started running very rough with the check engine light flashing. I pulled over and cut it off. Since I wasn't in a good spot to stop I decided to try to limp to the next exit. It started back up and just ran rough. I made it about 300 yards and it was so bad I decided to just pull back over. I pushed the clutch in and started easing onto the shoulder. As I was easing over with the clutch in it died. It turns over but won't start. When i got out it had sort of a burnimg smell from the passenger side of the engime. I initially thought the timing belt may have broken since it is almost time to change it. I waited until 120kto change it the first time so I have 10k until it needs to be changed again but I figured it is close. When I got it home I checked the del and it gave me a missfire on multiple cylinders code as well as a separate missfire on each cylinder code for all 6 cylinders.
Well, today I had a chance to look at it and pulled the grommet on the timing cover so that you can see the can gear. When you try to turn the motor over the can gear spins. So I assume this means the timing belt isn't broken. Now this leaves me wondering what it could be. Could it have jumped timing? Or am I looking in totally the wrong spot? Any idea on what this may be?
EDIT: I will also say this car has some noise that sounds like a little valve noise but it's been a noisy motor since it was new so I didn't pay much mind to it. I doubt that could have anything to do with this and may be normal for these but I thought I would mention it just in case it has something to do with it.

Do you know the codes it was throwing?
Coils and plugs are a good suggestion.
Did you try starting it with some starter fluid to see if it will fire up? Could be a fuel pump. I don't know if a fuel pump explains the running rough bit though.

definitely start at the cheapest solution. plugs. I dont know what coils cost....yet. If it turns and wont crank, misfires, and runs ragged as hell....crank sensor.
Also, coupe or sedan? :-)

I had some bad coils a little while ago. I replaced them with a super cheap coil pack from Amazon. They were $92 for six coils. The Denso's were $65 for one.
The cheapo coils are still going strong a couple thousand miles later.
