My 2005 Accord EX will not start. When I turn the key, nothing happens. No sound, nothing. It is almost as if it does not even try to start

The car has power because the lights, radio, locks, etc. work without a problem. I also tried jumping it with no result.

This happened a couple weeks ago and after about an hour, I retried and it started fine. It has worked fine since then, until this morning.

Could it be the security system? Bad starter? Any ideas?

The reason why you're car erratically did not start could be attributed to a starter that is on its way out. Starters that are dying will sporadically cause your car to have difficulties starting; however, the fact that you didn't hear any clicking or other sounds of your engine attempting to ignite to life spurs me to consider that your battery terminals may be loose. Check you battery ground cable (ref #9 in this Accord battery diagram) to see if it is properly connected to the battery. I had the same issue that you are experiencing in my '04 S2000 and it turned out to be a loose ground cable.
