Hi everyone,

After crawling through Atlanta's snowmagedon a few weeks ago and basically idling for 10 hours through traffic, I started noticing a really bad smell coming through my cars AC (only when the vent is on without AC and the recirculated is off) when I stop the car at stop lights/traffic etc. I still can't pinpoint the smell, but I'm pretty confident the smell is ATF or oil. I park the car in a garage and there is no evidence of any drips of any sort, but the bad smell appears fairly consistently now. It occurs most often after I've run the car for a while at highway speeds and then come to a stop.

Has anyone experienced this or have any suggestion on what to look for? Thanks!

It's under warranty, bring it to the dealer. If you mess with it, you could void the warranty.

I have an 2013 EXL coupe and it was doing the same thing. Turned out to be rear value cover gasket. Dealer took care if it under warranty.

My car had less than 5k miles on it when this happened. I was able to feel oil on some of the wires on the backside of the engine if I tried from the driver side.

Worse part, I get to dealer and the service mgr popped the hood and said "smells normal to me".
