2012 Accord EX-L v6 piston misfire
bought mine in late November 2011. now has 16K miles. today at a stop light, car started rumbling, then 1/2 mile later at next stop light, engine light started flickering on and off. drove it right past workplace to local Honda dealership, dropped it off, tech admitted right from the start when he took keys, noted mileage, created service ticket, that it was "misfiring". Got a courtesy ride back to work and started researching here and read other posts about the spark plugs going out in different cylinders. Got a call from Honda dealership 5 minutes ago who says "we replaced spark plug in cylinder #2" and "we'll have to wait to see if it happens again. If it does, we'll have to contact techline." So, without my prompting, the service guy admitted to this issue and apparently they have a "plan" which is to just wait for the next cylinder's (or #2 's again) spark plug to go out again. Are there any other updates since the June/July timeframe that I read here about an Odyssey with a similar (if not the very same) problem? Should I trade this in for different car before my warranty expires?

I had that done on my Odyssey. There a thread on this page that address the same thing. This has been a common "problem" with VCM.
Do you drive hwy a lot? Happening at 16K miles is a bit too soon. Most are between 40-60K.
I use the word "problem" because this is what Honda V6 owners have known and come to "expect."
Some owners just swap out the spark plugs. If your car is out of warranty, that is the cheaper way to go, because of what the dealer will charge.
I plan to replace my plugs straight out, all 6, when I get the chance.
I'm sort or waiting for this to happen to my Accord.
This is what happens when engine shuts down to 4 or 3 cylinder mode. I don't know if bad plugs are a "problem" with Chrysler-Benz-GM engines, with this feature.
Again, 16K miles is too soon.
