The sound is this "raspy" sound that I hear right before I fully let the clutch pedal out. After further inspection, I also hear it when my car is in neutral and I push down the cluth pedal about 1/2 an inch...up to the point where I feel pressure on the pedal. There is no vibration or slippage. Note that this is a V6 Coupe and we're getting ready for a long road trip

you can try putting some grease on the ball end of the slave cylinder and seeing if that quiets the noise
