2010 Accord Coupe V6 Q&A
Hello all,
Been thinking about trading in my 2004 Accord sedan (4 banger) with 120,000 miles on it for the new 2010 Accord coupe V6.
Is anyone having any common problems with this model?
I've heard about the following:
• Drivers side seat track issues
• Brake pad and/or grinding noise issues
Thanks in advance..

<--- V6 Sedan, not coupe.
1. Not sure about the track issue.
2. Brakes, see TSB on top.
There isn't much to say about the Accord now.
- It's expensive.
- For the price, there are other (auto) transmission that are smoother than Honda's own non-planetary system.
- VCM, it's not seemless as Honda make it out to be. I wish we could turn it off. Not for performance reasons, just for smoothness and refinement.
- You can feel cheapness if you don't step up to a EX-L. Or extra features make up for the cheapness.
Other than that, you'll love it.

the seat track on the drivers side jumps up and down when moving forward and backward i have done 2 of them, its quite rare and you can't feel it much if you don't move your seat back and forth a lot. only fix is to put a full frame in it.

Re: 2010 Accord Coupe V6 Q&A
I've also heard that the interior of the car has gotten slightly larger. Mainly the front seats. Funny story, I'm 6'2" with broad shoulders..I bought the 2004 Accord Coupe (4 banger) new and drove it for about a week. After a week my back/shoulders were in so much pain, I had to actually return the car for a sedan. WOW, did I loose a lot of money on that one. I was lucky and they had a dealer car thought I bought so I only lost a couple thousand. I did not even notice the day I drove it off the lot that my shoulders didn't really fit in the seat as well as they should have. I guess I was just really excited about buying the car.
I have since read that the 2008 -2011 models front seats were widened by an inch or so, and according to my last couple of test drives I do not have that problem any longer. But I am still very afraid to buy the coupe.
Any thoughts on this subject?

you'd need to have someone chime in that actually owned both cars... possible but unlikely.
I find the 8th gen seats a little flat or benchy, because I am used to driving in a full bucket... which the 8th gen accord does not have. also the 8th gen coupe has some slight blind spot issues in the c pillar area(due to the small size of the rear passenger side windows) that can restrict rear view slightly so be careful if you get a coupe.
there has been accelerated wear of brake pad material reported on some car starting with the 2008 model... it doesn't make ownership of the car an issue, but you need to be aware of it so you can get that fixed by the dealer should you experience it. on the 010 models I would not expect to see that happening.
buy the car and enjoy... it's a great ride

You know, that's very interesting that you mention the "flat or benchy" feel to the drivers side seat. I did notice on my test drives that I had less of a seat under my thighs. They just stopped shorter. It seemed strange at the time and thought if I bought the car I would just get used to it. Didn't know why they changed the seat..I'm assuming because of space issues. So these seats are not "full bucket"??
