2009 Accord EX Coupe lower pulley wobbles?
Hey guys, new to the game but hoping this may be a question that is easy to explain. 2009 Honda accord EX coupe 4cyl. GF was driving with no belt, didn't know it! LOL ok now that I got that out of the way, I get the new belt and go to install only to realize the lower pulley (I would assume it's the idler pulley on this model?) is extremely wobbly. Should it be? Anyway, I continued to install the belt and it wobbled off the threads
I'm trying to find the part pointed out with a ? Mark. It shakes. Any help?
fairly quickly. I didn't see this part on auto zone and have not been able to find it. I found a diagram and pointed it out in red with a question mark. (Attached) If anyone has anything they may want to share about this problem, I would like to hear. I read something about raising the engine and I was hoping someone else may chime in. Those threads were old anyway. Lol thanks and cheers to the forum.

No it shouldn't wobble. Looks like it's your idler belt tensioner, #3: http://www.ehondaparts.com/v-2009-ho...ing-bracket-l4

It is right above it, that makes sense. I could not find it at AutoZone..probably looking in the wrong place. Does this mean the entire water pump needs to be replaced? I would love to do the job myself but understand if it ends up being out of my league. Thanks for your reply.

The water pump's bearing may have seized and also the cause for the drive belt breaking. Yes, the water pump should be replaced.
Here is a video of one's guy's replacement.

As an alternative, you can also jack the car up, remove the front passenger side wheel, and part of the splash shield to gain access to some of the water pump and pulley bolts.
