Default 2008 LX-S Coupe

Hey guys,

I might be buying a new 08 LX-S coupe or LX-P sedan sometime soon. I just wanted to see if anyone had these models and how well they like it. I know the LX-S has the 190hp engine, but is it missing any essentials? I would like the v6, but can't afford it right now.

I leaning more towards the coupe, but have not made my decision. It is most probably going to be a manual, I am switching over from my 5th gen lude that died out on me recently.

Thanks

What essentials would you be looking for?

I want a cd/mp3 player, some sort of stock rims, MT, power everything, possibly a sunroof (but not mandatory), decent power, and around 20k.

I was looking at a civic, but I rather have this any day of the week.

the accord delivers all those...

the CD player is standard, as far a mp3 player you can make one work with an line adapter but you can not control the unit from the cars audio interface other than volume. The car comes stock with rims and tires. The windows are auto, standard. The moon roof is the only configuration. the k24 power plant is decent on the lower end accord, not awe inspiring... but real, usable, and fairly good gas mileage.

the coupe is not a good choice of you need any kind of room, but the rear seats are fairly roomy, and the trunk has good volume. go look at one in person, but if you need spaciousness then the sedan is a better choice more than likely

Is it a CD/MP3 player? (ie does it play MP3 CDs?) I swore edmunds mentioned it was, but I could be wrong.

I like the design of the coupe a lot more than the Sedan, well at least until I saw the Spoon thread, which looks amazing.

As far as space, I am not really drastically concerned about it, it has to be 10x better than my 5th gen lude back seats.

And for power, I am not looking to race with it, I want a decent amount of power with a good sense on mpg.

I just don't want to have a huge step down from my last car, but I think this is a decent trade-off.

My main concern is price, and that is why I am choosing the lower end model.

The LX models don't come with a sunroof. You will need to step up to the EX or the EXL model to get the sunroof.

Hmmm... intersting question. I have not tried to play any burned CD's in mine. If I had to hazard a guess I would have to say no, but dont quote me on that. a I4 coupe is a great choice.

I play burned CD's in my wifes Accord. I think they would all have the same CD player in them. We do have the premium Honda system, but i stll think it would play them.

Thanks for the help guys. But burned CD's aren't always MP3's, as they could be regular format audio CDs. But nonetheless thanks for the info.

BTW I saw a 2dr yesterday with HID's in them and they actually looked nice. AFAIK Honda does not offer Xenon's/HIDs in their cars besides s2k's. Does anyone have a set of aftermarket HIDs that actually have a nice output/cutoff without a horrible glare?

Hello,
I've had my EX-L since February and just turned 6k on the odo. After many years of owning Mazdas, this is my first Honda. I am very impressed!

I must disagree with the comment about roominess in the coupe. The room in the front seats is one of the main reasons I purchased the Coupe. After driving a Camry, Mazda 6 and a BMW 330 (wishful thinking), the Coupe had the most room. You'll be amazed how you can "stretch out" in the drivers seat!

The back seat is a bit of a challenge to get into, but quite roomy once you're settled in. But let's face it...it's a coupe and you're probably not going to be hauling adults around all that much. But I would say that for a quick 1-2 hour trip, it would be fine for most adults.

I got the 4-cyl, as I really wanted better mileage. I will admit that it's a bit short on torque, but if I want to play, I'll take out my Miata. I'm currently getting between 28 and 31 mpg on my daily commute (1/2 stop and go, 1/2 highway, 32 miles round trip). It's no stoplight racer, but goes well above the speed limit when needed.

The ride is a bit sportier than the sedan, as is the exhaust note.

My CD player will play burned CDs, as well as MP3 CDs. I haven't purchased the Honda Ipod connector yet...I'm just running mine through the aux jack in the compartment under the arm rest.

Hope this is helpful!

Thanks for the help bikey. I might wait out until next year to buy it when I graduate from college. I have a decent amount saved up for a down payment from internships, but not enough to pay monthly payments this coming year. And I know if I buy a i4 I will regret not having the 6. So i'll probably find a decent used car and have it for the year and then give it to my parents when I buy something new.

So when I get a job next year, this will be one of the first things to get: EX-L V6 MT coupe in either white or blue (I am in love with white cars).

rear room was all that was being discussed and NOT in comparison to other cars, in comparison between the coupe and sedan... savvy?
