This can be accomplished by disconnecting the rocker-arm-pressure-sensor connector on the drivers side of the rear cylinder head.
The check engine light will come on but otherwise normal operation. There will be a slight jerk on each drive cycle as the engine reaches operating temp and tries to engage vcm. Mileage will drop slightly.
Your engine mounts and transmission will be less likely to break.
Plug fouling, misfire, oil consumption, and especially the annoying vibration may all improve.

This from experience with 2008 Odyssey touring.
FYI
Although this may work, it will void your warranty. It is certainly risky nowaday to tinker with the ECM as you do not know what else are affected when the ECM is being fooled. I think there are several TBs on the engine vibration on the VCM engines and Honda would fix them properly. The Accord V6 VCM has the same design as the Odyssey 05 when it was first introduced. I happened to have the 06 Odyssey and it works fine. Initially, it worked seamlessly and the only time I knew it worked is when the green light on the dash illuminated. Now, it still works well at 55K but I notices when it kicks in but there is no resitation and no jerky motion. May be I am just lucky but I could imagine how bad it could be if the damned thing does not work smoothly.

The Pilot owners figured that inserting an 80 ohm resistor between the Bank 1 engine case temperature sensor and the ECU turns the VCM off w/o tripping the CEL. Google "vcm muzzler" and you'll find the guy who did it. This is for V6. Now, knowing that, I am interested to find out how to do the same thing on the 4 cyl and disable the cylinder disable when the vehicle is stopped, which is driving me nuts even before I bought a 4 cyl Honda.
