2008 Honda Accord Alternator Removal
I'm trying to remove the alternator from a 2008 2.4L Honda Accord and am having some trouble. I removed both bolts that secure the alternator, which loosened it enough to push and pull, but there seems to still be something holding it in place with the bottom bracket. I can't find anything online about this, wondering if anybody else has gone through this process or might be able to point me in the right direction as to what's holding this thing down.

Removal of the alternator requires removal of the drive belt, then the 2 alternator mounting bolts on one side, and the alternator cable and connector on the other side. The alternator harness has a plastic harness clip that needs to be released off the alternator harness bracket; use a pair of needle nose pliers to squeeze the clip on the back and push/pull the clip off the alternator harness bracket.

Ive been spraying the hell out of the area with some degreaser. This thing will push and pull back and forth but its hanging onto something on the bottom it feels like. I can’t get it to disconnect from the metal piece that the bolt holds it onto.

Just got that damn thing out! Kept spraying degreaser and got some more leverage underneath, finally managed to pull it out. That took way longer than it should’ve!

This was definitely one of those times! Thanks for the help with the information you provided, I was pretty sure that I had removed everything already but it was good to have somebody else confirm that I wasn’t missing something.
