2008 accord v6 misfires
I was getting p0300, p0301, p0302, p0303, and p0305. I took the cast in for 60,000 service which replaced the plugs, adjusted valves, etc. Now 4,000 miles later, all the codes are back. Wishful thinking was that the 60k service new plugs and adjustments would correct everything.
Also, the engine light flashes and the VSA and exclamation point are on constantly.
What is in line to check and/or replace? Honda wants $105 just to diagnose the problem ... again.
Thx.

Re: 2008 accord v6 misfires
so there are dealerships doing spark plugs and valve adjustments at 60k. you should take it back and let them know that your problem is still present and that there is a known issue with the 08 v6 models and misfires. did the dealership tell you that plugs and valve adjustment would take care of it? i hope you didn't pay for it. VSA comes on with the check engine light.
this isn't right

Re: 2008 accord v6 misfires
The dealership said that the 60k was really just another 30k service which did include new plugs and valve clearance adjustment, both of which usually correct any misfiring issues.
I've been doing more reading on this forum and noticed some other things that others are pointing out that appear to be problems with my car too. I have to put a quart of oil in the car every 1000 miles. I can never go an entire oil change cycle (100% to 0% oil life) without adding 4-6 quarts of oil. I've never had a vehicle use that much oil, not even my American cars?? I have had to replace the rotors on the car twice already and the last service indicated they are severely worn again.
How can I get my local dealership to address these issues without me paying an arm and a leg? The car is now past 60k miles so it's out of warranty. Sucks that the first Honda I purchase is one that is poorly built :-(

hopefully you didn't pay for the plugs or valve adjustment, you need to double check what your "powertrain warranty" covers. the v6 engine also has a known oil consumption issue that should get a "pcm update". find out the honda rep in you area and give them a call asap. whomever you are taking your car to has no idea what they are doing and are taking your monies. i hope you get your money back and get your vehicle sorted out. those spark plugs are good for 100,000 miles.
it really breaks my heart to see honda headed in this direction but after 2000 quality and research and development have seemed to decline at a alarming rate.

Definitely check with another shop. Sounds like a PCM update is where you're headed. Plugs aren't due for your car until 105,000.

Brake fade is common on this car.

I disagree. Yes rear pads are known to wear out unevenly but it's been updated. Unless you got different definition for POOR quality.

This morning I brought my car to an independent Honda auto repair shop.
After an hour of checking and found a bulletin # 10-033. Aug 11/2010.....Needed replace the Plugs and Updated the PCM.
The mechanic cleaned #1,3 and 5 spark plugs,Wich was foul out pretty bad...reset the ecu for all the codes.
I'll take my car to the Dealership for service tomorrow.
BTW,My car also Drinking a quart of oil in approx. 1-2k miles..more than my 09 335i and 07 Z4mcoupe with S54 engine....

Re: 2008 accord v6 misfires
You guys are on point!
After I took it back and the dealership charged me for the diagnostics, they admitted they did not change the plugs because they were platinum. However, they didn't last anywhere close to the 105k miles they should last. So they gave me a discount and only charged me $200 for 6 new platinum plugs. Ouch! They also did not do the valve adjustment even though it is checked off on the checklist as being done.
They rep said that the car also need a computer update.
They gave me a sheet to fill out every time I fill up now since I told them about the oil consumption problem I'm having. They said "We might have to get Honda involved" ... what does that mean? What happens if Honda gets involved? My 2nd fillup since the service and bam!!! 2 quarts of oil needed to get oil back onto the dipstick. No oil light indicating the oil is low. Weird and in no way, shape, or form can that be normal!!
Should I also tell them about the rotors I have to keep replacing? Will Honda get involved with that issue as well? I'm not even getting 20k miles out of my rotors before they start warping. I thought Honda was a sturdier car than this pain in the butt is turning out to be. And their service is something I heard wonderful things about but I'm not very impressed so far with them charging me for everything that appears to be known problems? Do I need to bitch more??

LOL! I do about 2,000 miles per month ... I thought this car would be a fun, tough car to drive. I have a lot of miles to drive and might as well enjoy the time on the road. I'm just not enjoying this as much as I thought I would with these issues constantly popping up.

Or you rotors could be ok but technicians/writers could be just saying that to make more money from you... Did you actually feel the bad rotors while braking?
