2008 Accord 6-6 vs Acura TL-S
We were talking in another thread about surprising dyno results on the 6-6's.
This chart belongs to Jeff Palmer, and I thought it was kind of interesting considering a side discussion that occurred in a recent thread.

Advertised HP ratings:
TL-S <FONT COLOR="red">286 hp @ 6200 rpm </FONT>
Accord 6-6 <FONT COLOR="red">268 hp @ 6200 rpm</FONT>
It might be important to mention that the Accord 6-6 motor is quite a bit different from the V6 that is provided in the automatics.
Although the HP rating is the same, the V6 automatic is a fancy thing that changes the number of cylinders firing at any given time, based on what you are asking of the car. The 2008 Accord V6 automatic will cruise on as few as 3 cylinders in order to maximise fuel economy and minimise greenhouse emissions.
By contrast, the 6-6 motor in the Coupe is an old fashioned VTEC thing with a dual stage intake manifold.
Despite the fact that the secondary intake opens at 4000 and there is a VTEC surge at 5000, you can see from the charts that they have done a good job smoothing the torque out and providing generous amounts of it across a very wide RPM range.
