2007 Honda Accord dies when stopping with A/C on
I am trying to help out my Aunt so here is what is going on with her car. She has a 2007 Honda Accord 2.4L VTEC. Her chain jumped and broke a valve and we swapped the motor for a 2004 2.4L Vtec with 64k miles. Looks like exact same engine. Now almost every time she stop with the air on the car goes dead. What could be causing this and where do I start. Help help will be greatly appreciated.

Re: 2007 Honda Accord dies when stopping with A/C on
Ok I actually talked to my aunt last night and here is the deal. She said if she cranks it up and idles with the air off or on its fine. If she is driving in traffic with the air on everything is fine. If she is driving in traffic with the air off and stop when she presses the gas to go it dies. I am wondering since it is a 2007 with a 2004 motor is there any adjustment in the cable or whats the difference. There has to be something minor causing it to not have enough RPM's to stay running when you stop. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Pretty sure the '07 Accord 4 cyl do not have a throttle cable ('05 was the last year). Start simple and make sure the plugs are up to date and a good cleaning of the TB never hurts......being a "drive by wire" you will need to pull the TB to get to the back side.....while there be sure there are no "holes" in the intake tube.

Re: 2007 Honda Accord dies when stopping with A/C on
I finally had a chance to look at the car the other night. Here is what I found. #1 The air baffle clamps were loose so I tightened them. #2. The throttle cable had a lot of slack in it so I tightened it up. I checked for vacuum leaks and anything out of place and everything else checked out good. It made it a little better but there is still some hesitation when you press the gas. It only died twice on her way to work but still something is not quit right. I guess the next thing would be to check the throttle body. The sparks plugs are brand new. Anything else you can think of I should do?

Did you ever figure out a solution? I have an '01 Accord that's having a similar issue. Mostly dies when I'm stopped at an intersection, and all of the times I've noticed it, the AC has been on as well.

Clean the Head of the Intake as shown:
Then, you need to do the Throttle Learning procedure:
1-Turn ON the key to Second (do not start the car)
2-Wait for the check engine light to be OFF.
3-Turn OFF all lights, AC, radio, electronics, etc..
4-Start the car and keep the RPM on 3000 RPM until the cooling fans in the engine starts.
5-Keep it running for 5 minutes.
Your problem is solved.
