2007 accord timing chain slip
Hey guys, im considering purchasing an 07 k24a8 engine for a possible swap. Im wondering how big of a deal is that the timing chain slipping is. The guy that has it now says it was still running just rough with cel. I have searched a good deal for a timing chain write up and I was also wondering if this is an interference motor, I am assuming it is but I have seen it stated to be both. I don't think I want to mess with it if the valves took a shot.

Re: 2007 accord timing chain slip
They are interference engines, so if the timing chain does stretch and slips enough teeth there is a good chance that there will be engine damage.
Another thing to note, the timing chain typically only stretches due to being ran low on oil for extended periods of time. I would expect to see an engine that hasn't had much upkeep and hasn't had oil changes done on a regular basis.

Makes sense, car belonged to college girl, probably didn't ever change the oil, I know the maintenance light was on when they took it to the dealer and they wouldn't honor the warranty...I may just steer clear of this one, the engine only had 64k on it I guess it seems to good to be true, thanks for the input
