Default 2007 accord map light issue

2007 accord EX V6: Neither map light worked when I pushed the switch. The driver side light worked when I opened the door, but the passenger side light didn't. I suspected bad switches. I replaced both switches. Now the driver side light works both when I open the door or press the switch. The passenger side light still does not work at all. Any suggestions?

Did you ever check the bulb?

If the cause is the not switch or bulb, then the remaining component is the map light base unit. Recheck all the components.

Both left and right map lights share the same power (+) and respective ground (-) sources during the following dual functions:

(1) turns on if pressed
(2) works if door opened.

Because the map lights have "dual functionality" there are separate ground sources involved in the circuit. The same ground source feeds both driver and passenger map lights when a door is opened. A different ground source (at the base of the unit) is used when you manually pressed them on (both left and right share this respective ground source at the base). A single power wire feeds the map lights base unit.

Thank you. Since the driver side lamp lights for both functions and the passenger side does not light for either function (with a known good bulb), I am assuming there is something wrong with that side's unit. I am wondering if it could be in the plug that plugs into the back of that side.

Honda's online manual shows both map lights get their power and door signals from the same wires going into the overhead console. Ground comes from body connection. Do you have something different?

My source is from Honda and the same. Look at the circuit diagram again and it will show what I previously stated is consistent. There are two respective ground sources; one from the map unit base (body ground) when you press the map light switch. When the doors are opened, the green wire supplies the ground.
