2007 Accord ignition troubles
What up guys, so i recently purchased a 4dr 07 Accord Ex, and have noticed that the car doesn't start right away. I have to hold the key in the ignition position for a few seconds before it starts. Would this be caused by bad/old sparkplugs? I have taken them out to look at them and they definetly look old and somewhat worn out. The gaps on some are even a bit off.

Just so I'm clear in my understanding.
You turn the key to start - the starter is spinning the engine with good speed and you have to hold it this way for "x" amount of time before the engine will fire up and run on it's own?
If so, then yes I would replace the plugs with the proper NGK plugs.....you have no idea when they were last changed.
At the same time since you just go the car, do you know what has been done as far as regulat maint stuff? Is this a 4 or 6 cyl engine and how many miles are on it?

It is a 4 cylinder car, and i just found out today from the honda dealer that it had the transmission fluid, oil change, and front brakes done like 2000 miles ago.
As a side note do you happen to know how to program the auto locks i have read like 3 different articles on how to do it , but i can't get them to auto lock after following their instructions.

So yea you more or less got the jist of it. I crank the car to start but it doesn't start up right away like other cars. I have to keep cranking it for an extra second or two before it'll fully run on its own. I mean its not along time that i have to keep cranking it, but just enough to tell that it feels slightly longer.

If the car has ~110K or more on it and you cannot verify that the plugs have been changed I would add a new set of NGK plugs to your future.
Did you get the car with the owners manual - the locks/fobs should be in that. If not I'll look in the service manual I have for the "how to".....or a quick search (I know you did already) and if you find a post by redbull or tech8 I'd go with that - two people I trust to post good info.....and many times better than what I have in the service manual(s).

Yea i will definitely be switching the sparkplugs.
As for the locks, i'm starting to wonder if there is something faulty. Because at some point all articles mention to hold the lock switch down until they click twice, but on my car it only clicks the first initial time, any thoughts?

Re: 2007 Accord ignition troubles
I think you may have misunderstood my issue. I'm not trying to program the key transmitter. What i'm trying to do is program the locks so that they automatically lock when I either shift out of park or start moving the vehicle. I hope that clears things up a bit more.
