2006 Honda Accord 120000 miles service
Quick question about 120000 mile service. My dealer is pushing me to spend about $435 for the same. The maintenance minder says Service B 1. Asking the experts here if there is anything else that one should do at 120K other than Service B 1?

They are suggesting the following as their 120K special (about $440)
*oil and filter change
*tire rotation
*front wiper inserts
*lubrication of all doors, locks, latches, hinges, and window seals
*replacement of transmission fluid
*replacement of a/c cabin filter
*inspect and tighten all suspension components
*measure and adjust tire pressure/tire tread depth
*measure, clean, and lubricate brakes, and adjust rear parking brake
*top off/check all remaining fluids and filters
*battery load test
*check for any safety recalls with Honda

I remember the dealer telling me once that it was about 100 bucks for Cabin air filter. It took me $10 dollars at 10 minutes tops without any tools.

Did my timing belt at around 95K, spark plugs at 100K. Thinking about doing the transmission fluid change.

Otherwise, its just a $400 oil change and drain and fill......

Its a good mileage that you covered on accord so now if you spend 450$ on it so it will get fresh again because their is a need to proper diagnose it and change its filters, oil and other used parts so then it will gives you a reliable drive.

Re: 2006 Honda Accord 120000 miles service
Sorry Hobit, but I don't think that's a very fair explanation for shrekfiona. Most of these things can be done at home without any overly expensive equipment or very much expertise (though some common sense and guidelines does help).
If you're confident you can inspect your own suspension to make sure it isn't worn out in any regard, by all means I think you can do this yourself and save a good amount of money.

How would one lubricate the window seals? I ask cause the driver side window on my 2006 Accord is starting to make a squeaking noise. Thanks guys!
P.S. This is my first post, be gentle, haha

Thank you for the suggestion guys. Apologies for not replying earlier. I did bite the bullet and do the service. Accord is starting to bite me quite a bit of late. I had to replace Front Lower Control Arm Compliance Brushing ($400 with Alignment). More recently the steering pump was replaced ($425).

That $825 could have been reduced to $200 with some DIY. If you don't want to play, you have to pay. On the internet, you can usually watch other people do the same job in videos, over and over, and pick the one you want to follow.

Ouch! $600 gone because am not technical! Truer words were never spoken! I will take this suggestion seriously. I think it is high time I spent more time under the hood of the car so that I can understand how things work. I may start off with mobile mechanics who come to your home and fix things in the driveway with the intent of learning things.
