2006 Accord V6 6MT, won’t rev past 5500
I just got this ‘06 Accord sedan with the V6 6MT, it had 171,000 miles on it. It’s been perfect this month that I’ve owned it. Until today, my wife called me and said the orange wrench light lit up (internet search revealed probable oil change is needed: dash info of 15% oil life more or less confirmed that), so no biggie there.
However, I hopped in the car tonight to zip over to the store and at around 5000-5500 rpms in any gear, it lurks forward and won’t rev past the 5000-5500 mark. It had never done this until tonight. I’ve been able to make the “vtec kick in” until now.
I searched several sites and haven’t found anyone with my particular situation. Anyone have any ideas? Will the low oil life affect the vtec like that?

Well, I took it out for another spin so i could better understand what was happening and explain it and the check engine light and the VSA light with the ! In a triangle light came on. Put a code reader on the car and got P2646. Anyone have any advice?

Have you put that code into your favorite search engine?

I have. And the first thing I need to do is change the oil. Low oil levels can mimic the same symptoms of the pressure sensor switch and/or the solenoid going bad. Oil level was low, so in the AM I’m going to get put oil in it and see if that helps. If not then I’ll swap out the pressure sensor switch/solenoid all at once.
