2005 honda accord LS swap?
I've been seeing alot of LS swaps lately and was thinking about attempting this on my 2005 honda accord.
I was thinking what would this swap include? |
Re: 2005 honda accord LS swap?
I was thinking with going a 3.4/4T60E combo from a Chevy Impala.
Now what I'm thinkin is how will i mount this? |
Re: 2005 honda accord LS swap?
Since when is a 3.4 an LS series v8?
5.3 iron block w/ VW bus box |
Re: 2005 honda accord LS swap?
well Ideally I want to pus an LS1 but i doubt itll fit.
What do you think? |
Re: 2005 honda accord LS swap?
I think its gonna be a pain in the ass, and a v6-6speed is already plenty good, a k2.4 5speed or whatever trans is there isn't bad either.
both motors can make alot of power with forced induction, a j3.0a4 can make 300+ whp w/ simple flow mods.. I just dont see the point in putting an American engine in this vehicle. |
Re: 2005 honda accord LS swap?
I thought "LS swaps" were all about Limited Slip differentials from Acura cars.
|
Re: 2005 honda accord LS swap?
THIS IS WHY I HATE CALLING ENGINES "LS"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
there's the gm LS next Gen v8, the Acura Integra "LS" non-vtec b18, there's an "LS" limited slip transmission differential. |
Re: 2005 honda accord LS swap?
When there are so many Acura engines to choose from, why would anyone try to put a Chevy engine in an Accord? If you're that crazy about Chevy engines, buy a Chevy car.
|
Re: 2005 honda accord LS swap?
In his defense, I cant think of a single sports car that hasn't had a Chevy engine swapped into it.. Its rarely done with FWD cars tho, accords are nice and all but not a real sports car no matter what you do to it

Re: 2005 honda accord LS swap?
The point of this project because it will be hard and what's challenging is fun.
Although I've never really though about putting an Acura engine or trans. But it's food for thought. But will a V8 fit? and which would be the best trans? By the way, I'm not really into asian cars. dont get me wrong I do plan on buying this 86 regal or an 88 monte carlo. But for now. All I have is this honda to work with. I'm also trying to figure out how to safety remove the battery. My instructor told me about hybrids when i was in school. Saying that you are more likely to die then be injured from that Orange cable of death lol. |
Re: 2005 honda accord LS swap?

That should be enough challenge to make you deliriously happy for quite a while. |
Re: 2005 honda accord LS swap?
The only problem I could think of is that the J series is a narrow angle V8 while the LS series engines have a 90 degree V.
IV seen people do this sorta thing with a VW bus transmissions thats been rebuilt with performance parts. If someone can do it w/ a civic you can do it with an inspire |
